Whatever you do – don’t watch the news … It’s bad!
We may not always agree on “things” but I think our collective consensus is that this has been a tough year. I like the sign in my friends store, “We’ve laid off DOOM and GLOOM”. In spite of the forcast, looking back I see there is much to be thankful for. And here are the pictures to prove it. I thank God for my family, for the roof over my head and the food on my table. There IS always much more to be thankful for than to be bummed about. If you don’t agree, I suggest you rethink that. Try this …

It’s time to go outdoors …
I joined my FB pals on a photowalk to the Pinnacles this past weekend. I was very disapointed to not see a camp store, park visitor centrer (complete with exhibits and slideshows), I mean, “what kind of outdoors is this?” Evidently this is what the real outdoors is …. and this was MY idea?
After paying my $5, I found the parking lot and stepped out into the … outdoors. There weren’t any roads just trails … the kind you have to actually walk on. This is not looking fun at all. Oh, and did I mention all the warning signs everywhere about drinking water and the little picture underneath of some rescue crew carrying out some poor dehydrated sap that resembles … me? I quickly drove to Soledad and snagged some water (yea, I didn’t bring any water). I did remember to buy a pen light for the caves … I’m such the survivalist!
After our group “finally” arrived, we headed out on our 1 – 1-1/2 hour hike. I kept thinking about my chlidhood … and something about a three hour tour on the “minnow”.
I actually did enjoy my time outside eventually. I took some pics and met some great folks and saw my old buddy Rena who I hadn’t seen in how many years …. Crazy long time. We made it out alive and had fun in the process but why was I the only person sweating?

Every wedding is unique. But they do have a common thread … THAT schedule. It ticks away at everything, the getting ready shots, the couple shots. It makes us photographers a unique breed. We must keep up with the action and in some way make it look the opposite. Like everything went at a romantic cruze. And not make anyone late to the reception!
Sure, Rosanna is beautiful, stunning, gorgeous … but man, can this woman keep to a schedule. She made my job so easy. How can it be that someone can be good at making schedules and yet be flexible. That’s my gal Rosanna. She does it with style. Bobby and his groomsmen were such studs. Or they were just really nervous … hard to tell. Either way they made some great images and at the reception made us laugh and cry. How can anyone not like a wedding. What can I say, I get attached to these couples. Rosanna and Bobby, thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing me into your wonderful lives.

Those eyes!
Sophia and Scot were so amazing on their big day. Sophia had cousins everywhere (it seemed) taking care of all the details. Scot was a hilarious bundle of nerves. Their ceremony was short but sweet and Rev. Mike did his usual great job. We watched as the fog rolled in over the Cambria coast and hurried to the beach for some “formal” shots. The sun was just perfect at Leffingwells and we took advantage of it completely.
Sophia and Scot, thanks for the great time and for the pleasure of celebrating your new lives.
