Prom Night!

May 24, 2009

I never went to prom. As a matter of fact I was a rocker and rocker’s don’t go to prom – at least they didn’t in my day. Not sure if rockers exist anymore …
Anyway, I would sure change that if I could. I had a great time shooting these kids just as they were leaving for a night on the town. I always appreciate the opportunity to do someone a favor. A friend of our lead vocalist hired us for his birthday party. As part of his birthday gift, I offered my services and along came the limo! It was a great party. I only wish I had more time to shoot these kids. Here are a couple of my faves.

Mother’s Day

May 10, 2009

My mother just got back from a 3 month cruise. I guess she isn’t aware she is tooooo old for this kind of activity. Sheesh, what is the world coming to?
When she got home it was my joy to upload her pictures from the trip. We loaned her our digital P&S. Fortunately, her little semi-disposable film camera died just before she left. Yay!
Here is a link to her 3 month photosafari.
Here she is with my two sons on mothers day …. gotta love the back lit hair!

Day in the Shade

May 9, 2009

In the wedding business we call this guy an Uncle Bob. You know the guy … he follows the pro around so as to get the same shot. Or they just get crazy and shoot back!
Caught in the act ...
Well this good natured feller is not really an Uncle Bod he’s just having a good time at the annual Day in the Shade. It’s a local artist and wine tasting event in our little sleepy town. I love every chance I get to document our small town life. This blog is really more about that side of my life than the “professional” side. I do a lot of free shooting because I’m first and foremost a guy who loves photography.
I’d make a great Uncle Bob!

The Richard Family

May 2, 2009

I love it when clients loosen up. Although I can’t say they were anxious or anything, they certainly did unwind after a bit. Mom and Dad were in Cambria celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary with their “kids”. Kind of a my three sons gig! They were great sports. After all, the winds were clipping 40 mph when we got to the location. Like I said, good sports.
I can’t say enough good things about them and I loved our session together. The portrait session was a gift from their daughter in law. Don’t you just love being someones’ present!
